Assignment #2

The groups that are in support of our cause that we have chosen to follow are:
@USTermLimits – U.S. Term Limits
@JudicialWatch – Judicial Watch
@bouldercitizen – Boulder Citizens for Term Limits
@Open Boulder – Open Boulder
@TermLimits4USC
@TermLimits
@TermLimitsTexas
@ProTermLimits – TermLimitsForYou
@MITermLimits – Michigan Term Limits
@OhioTermLimits – 8 is Enough

The groups that are not in support of our cause that we have chosen to follow are:
@Calbuzz
@thenewrepublic
@SenSanders
@JohnKaisich – John Kasich
@Heritage - Heritage Foundation
@GOVERNING – Governing
@NewAmericanMag – The New American
@ggwash – Greater Greater Washington
@TheIJR
@keepthecongress

Some of the groups that we have chosen to follow could lend greater support than others who are of less notoriety or less applicable to our position. For example, @USTermLimits could most likely lend support to our cause in a higher degree than @MITermLimits or @OhioTermLimits could due to the fact that both Michigan and Ohio are states that the Boulder City Council is not in, despite that these groups both share our belief that term periods should be moderated. Other groups we have chosen to follow such as, @ProTermLimits and @TermLimits4USC would lend strength with their support because they are specifically focused on our cause and would have highly similar interests in mind. @TermLimitsTexas feels that term limits are a necessity in today’s society because they feel congress has too many deadlocks. However, the @OpenBoulder and Boulder Citizens for Term Limits would most likely be of greatest support for our cause because not only are these groups local and we are discussing term limits, locally, for Boulder’s City Council but since these groups presumably are smaller than the state-wide or nation-wide groups they would be able to help us accomplish our shared goal of the moderation term limits with better success. The groups that are not in support of our cause we chose to follow for specific reasons. The groups @SenSanders and @JohnKaisich are important to follow because they are strong voices in politics, as they were both presidential candidates in this election for a long period of time. @JohnKaisich is also an interesting force in opposition because he is representative of an ‘on the fence’ opinion when it comes to moderating term limits. He is not necessarily pro, or against, but instead is a third party group that could offer insight as well as could quite possibly be swayed to change his opinion to firmly in support of our cause. Other groups that we chose to follow that do not support our group’s opinion, such as@thenewrepublic, @GOVERNING, and @Heritage we chose because they claim to be extremely nationalistic. However, we believe that American ideals decree that term limits should be moderated, so it is important to see how ‘true’ Americans on the other side of the issue argue for their beliefs.
